Micro-Controller/ DSP based VAr Sensing Power Factor Controller senses reactive power in individual phases of the load through three loads CT’s and finds an average required KVAr. The Power Factor Controller switches necessary capacitor banks to minimize the required KVAr in lag/ lead side to maintain the power factor near unity. The Power Factor Controller also allows connecting unequal bank size and can monitor total capacitor current.
